Woolacombe (Southwest Coast)

We went down to the south coast of England, a place called Woolacombe, on holiday with a couple other families. We had such a fun time. This is all of us ready to go in. The ocean's pretty cold here, so it was lucky we had these wetsuits on! We loved it.

We also played miniture golf, went swimming, and played games. It was nice to get away and have fun.

Our New Car!!

This is our new car that we just got...well, new to us. We're excited to have our own car and pretty soon our own place!

Eating out with friends.....

Going out to eat with friends was always fun!!! There are too many frineds we will miss and all the fun nights out with. Jamie and Catherine joined us on a few Olive Garden dinners!! We love that place.

Rachel's trip to St. George without Chad

Rachel went to St. George with a couple of my brothers and thier families during the two weeks that I was in England without her. It was her last chance to sun tanned. She went to Zions National Park and other historic church sites. She said she had fun with all the nieces and nephews!

Fishing for the 1st time

This was our first experience fishing together. We went to a little pond just south of Payson that my brother, Dave, had told us about. Rachel was pretty good at fishing- she even caught more than me!! 3 fish to 2. I claim that I kept going for a big fish that was in the water. On a side note, I was bare foot and walking to a different location on the pond. I found a spot, stopped and cast my line out. Next thing I felt was something on my foot, so I shook it and saw a water snake land in the pond.....ahhh, I hate snakes!

Antelope Island

We heard of Antelope Island from a couple people and finally decided to go see it. It was the strangest feeling floating in the Great Salt Lake!! You really had to just trust the water would hold you up. Beware not to get any in your eye- it stings, trust me! There were no rinse places close by, so I just used a towel to help me. We had fun floating in the water. Next we decided to check out the Ranch that was on the island and went horse back riding! Rach has gone before, but it was my first time. They were well trained horses that you could speed up or slow down whenever you wanted and they never got out of control. We'd love to do it again.

Biking up Provo Canyon

Just another thing we wanted to enjoy before leaving. It's nice getting sun tanned before leaving to rainy England. :)

Hiking Stewart Falls

We've hiked Stewart Falls a few times, but wanted to do it one last time before coming to England. We dragged our friends, Mike and Jess and their baby Cooper, along for the ride.

Yee Haw!!!

My brother and sister-in-law had a big 40th birthday party for themselves. Rach and I were invited to come along and join in the party!! There was dinner and a show with a sherrif and robbers- it was great fun. We rode up in a wagon pulled by horses and once arriving to our destination we could lasso a iron cow, brand dates into wood and play horseshoes. It was a night of fun and we're glad we were able to celebrate it with them!

International Culture Fest

Wednesday night we headed up to Salt Lake for the International Culture Fest. They had dancing and musical performances from all different cultures. Its was a good night and the best part was that it was free.

This guy is only 12 years old, he is the international fire knife champion. He was throwing it around and spinning it and was only a few feet away from the audience. He even managed to set the grass on fire!!

Hiking Timpanogos

A few weekends ago chad and a couple of friends from work got together to Hike Timp. They got up at 3am and started just before 4am!! it took them 7 hours. Here are a couple of pics from the hike

On the way up, climbing up the snow :)

We had a pretty good view on the field in Front of the Provo Temple

4th of July!!

We decided to get up early this year and go and see the Hot Air Balloons in Provo. Its was very fun being that close and watching them all blow up and then take off. Definately made me wish i could go for a ride in one though.

Lehi Rodeo

We went to a Rodeo a few weeks ago. It was good fun although i felt bad for the animals, especially the little calves, but the bull riding was impressive and the bucking horses. I dont know how those cowboys stayed on at all.

There is one competition where a calf is released from a pen and two cowboys tag team it, they each lasso it, one gets the horns the other gets the legs, kinda sad for he calf but still impressive. The calves got up and ran around after each one so you could see they were fine.

Ben....

Well Ben is now at his foster home untill we can find him a permanent home. The lady who is fostering him has 4 dogs of her own and he is having the time of his life playing with them in the garden all day. We went to visit him a few days ago and he is doing great and clearly very happy, which makes me happy. The lady fostering him even dared to go roller blading with him and let him pull her. She is brave. Anyway just thought i would update anyone who cares to read this :)

Ben is back again

When we decided to move back to England we made another decision, a very tough one, to give Ben to a new home. We found homes for him that just didnt work out and we kept getting him back. Finally we found the perfect home for him and 3 months ago we took him his new owner. We were sad to see him go but felt good as it was such a perfect situation. Months went by and i always had feelings i should call and check on him but didnt as part of me was scared of what the answer would be. Now i wish i had. A few days ago chad got a phone call saying that Ben had been tied up and abandoned outside the Murray Animal Control and was looking very thin and dehydrated. Obviously we went and picked him up and he was very happy to see us. Now we are back at square one trying to see if it is possible to take him with us or it it is best to find him a new home...... Poor puppy, he has be passed around so much. Luckily we have found someone who is willing to foster him while we try and work out what we will be doing as we cant keep it at our apartment. We are hoping there is a way to bring him with us as i dont want to risk him being abandoned again and me not being here to bring him home .....

Bike Ride at Onion Creek

This was a much harder bike ride that we thought and one by one we all gave up and turned back. The way back was much nicer as it was mostly downhill :) It was a sandy road that was all up and down (mostly up) with little streams crossing the road that you had to bike through. It was very pretty but next time i would go ealier in the year when its not so hot.

Hiking to the Delecate Arch!

This was a 3 mile hike there and back, mostly up hill, in rediculously hot weather. We all started off with bottles of ice cold water and by the time we were done the water was actaully hot!! It was hard work but worth seing. I can cross it off my list of things to see.
PS it was really windy up there hense my wierd hair....

Arches- attempt #1

We were on our way to see the Delicate Arch when we noticed we were nearly out of petrol, we kept driving thinking it wouldn't be too far but the road just kept going and going. Eventually we decided that instead of getting stuck in the middle of the desert we should head back and we would try again in the morning. We did stop to take some pictures though.
